This Week’s Sexual Relationship Tip:

“The 20 Minute Hug”

One of the most intimate activities for any couple is (you
know it’s true!)…the hug.

Your ability to maintain a comfortable, non-sexual embrace
for more than ten seconds can say much about your
relationship.

If you want a powerful way to improve your marital
intimacy…a way that will directly impact the rest of your
relationship quickly…try the following.

Set aside 20 minutes for a hug.

During this hug, don’t feel the need to talk.

Don’t feel the need to do anything particular with your
hands.

Avoid anything sensual.

Just sit (or stand) there…hugging…for the entire 20
minutes…saying nothing…doing nothing…just enjoying
the closeness of each other.

“Easter: The Greatest Long Weekend And How It Can Affect
Your Marriage”

Easter is the holiday that most powerfully expresses the
Christ story.

You can dismiss Christmas as a cute story about a baby in a
manger.

But, you can’t dismiss Easter in the same way.

As John Irvine said, “Any fool can feel like a Christian at
Christmas. But Easter is the main event; if you don’t
believe in the resurrection, you’re not a believer.”

Why is this?

Because Easter brings the whole narrative of the
relationship between God and humans together into one long
weekend.

During this weekend, the Creator of the universe makes the
greatest sacrifice, his only Son, to give us lowly humans
an opportunity to renew our souls and restore our
relationship with him.

It is about resurrection and restoration on the grandest
scale.

It puts all other relationships and problems in its shadow.

As Philip Yancey has said, “Against all odds, the
irreversible will be reversed.”

As with all other Scriptural stories, it serves both
literal and metaphorical purposes.

And, those metaphorical purposes exist on a myriad of
levels.

This story of the Creator sacrificing his only Son…and
the Son’s ultimate resurrection and rise to glory…just to
fix the relationship with us lowly humans…is truly “The
greatest story ever told.”

If it is possible for the Easter story to happen, ANYTHING
is possible.

Your marriage can be resurrected.

Your finances can be resurrected.

Your relationship with your children can be resurrected.

Nothing in the wide universe is outside of the realm of
possibility.

As you make your way through this coming weekend’s
celebration of the most important long weekend in history,
I pray that you feel the reality and power of God’s
willingness to restore and resurrect your marriage and
relationships.
